About Marion:

Set along the banks of the Mississinewa River, Marion is a small but vibrant community. Marion has a large manufacturing sector that produces items such as automotive components, paper products, foundry products and machinery. Agriculture is also a significant component of the area’s economy, with major crops being soy, corn, and hog production. However, the single largest employer of the area is Indiana Wesleyan University, one of the largest private colleges in the state. Though on the smaller side, Marion still has a number of fun activities. Visit one of the local museums dedicated to the area’s history, see the James Dean Birth Site Memorial, listen to the sweet sounds of the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra or take a stroll down Marion’s Mississinewa Riverwalk. If you are around during the holidays, the Riverwalk becomes the Christmas City Walkway of Lights, featuring all kinds of lighted displays with over 2,000,000 lights! Marion and the surrounding Grant County have excellent primary and secondary schools. The educators care about their students and encourage them to succeed. Higher education is also popular, with Indiana Wesleyan, Taylor, and Ivy Tech. These colleges not only offer undergraduate and graduate degrees, they offer a large collection of adult education classes to turn out a more skilled workforce for local employers. If you are looking for a quaint town with great offerings, look no further than Marion.
